dc.description.abstractThis is a preliminary epidemiological report on sexually transmitted diseases in Zambia. An analysis of data derived from a sample study of 1,000 consecutive female and 5,000 male S.T.D. patients seen at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka, is presented. The predominant diseases and the prevailing socio-economic, cultural and other factors responsible for the high prevalence of S.T.D. in Zambia are discussed.en
