dc.description.abstractThe dangers of using whole blood and its disadvantages are pointed out and the place of crystalloid or colloid transfusion as an adjuvant or substitute is discussed. The use of blood fractions for treatment of anaemias and clotting disorders is stressed. This means a reduction in amount of blood used for transfusion and hence reduction in cost and morbidity due to blood transfusion.en
